Tiny Home Vacations Resort was the host of The Rough Riders M/C 2021 Nationals event.
DID YOU HEAR THAT SOUND?
If you happened to be in the vicinity of Tiny Home Vacations Resort during the weekend of October 7 – 10th, you may have heard a sound you couldn’t quite put your finger on.
You may have dismissed it as a Texas thunderstorm off in the distance. But it kept getting closer… and louder. An unfamiliar ear could easily mistake the deep rumble for a fast-approaching thunderstorm.
But for the legions of die-hard Harley-Davidson fans, it is the Song of The
V-Twin Sirens. The distinct calling card shared by those who embody the motto:
“Ride to Live. Live To Ride.”
WHAT WAS THE OCCASION?
Every year The Rough Riders host a big get-together to aid and honor their fallen brothers and sisters at arms.
They rode to our North Texas Resort from as far away as New York and California, to attend the annual 3-day event. Those of you who ride motorcycles may realize what a feat of endurance that is.
The event gave this diverse group of characters the opportunity to come together and show their support for the Veterans and Active Duty members of the American Armed Forces.
WHO ARE THE ROUGH RIDERS?
The Rough Riders Motorcycle Club® (RRMC) is a traditional motorcycle club.
As members of the motorcycle community, they are respectful of all and affiliated with none.
The RRMC is dedicated to veterans’ causes and POW/MIA issues. Their mission is to support all veterans, veteran groups and veteran hospitals.
Their club memberships are composed of veterans from Vietnam through Afghanistan and includes many Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard personnel.
Non-veterans who share the Rough Riders M/C values and goals are also welcome to join – but membership numbers are limited.
They welcome all that are interested in our supporting veterans or POW/MIA issues and can contribute to our club and cause. Prospective members must be sincere and devoted to helping veterans.
The original RRMC founders were members of a California chapter of an East Coast veteran’s motorcycle club. In 1992 ten members splintered off and formed their own club.
They carefully followed the protocol of asking all the other surrounding clubs if they had any problems with the name, colors and purpose… none objected.
The club currently has chapters in Northern and Southern California, Arizona, Alabama, Colorado, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and in the foreign lands of Okinawa and Korea.
As one of the Co-Founders once said, “We’re growing because there are a lot of bikers out there who care, and are supportive of veteran’s rights.”
